Financial Remedy Proceedings – Part 3

What happens after a Financial Dispute Resolution hearing (FDR)?

If agreement could not be reached at the FDR, further directions will be set in place to prepare your case for the concluding stage of the financial remedy process- the Final Hearing.

If a Final Hearing is needed, then both parties must attend court. They will be required to provide oral evidence and to be cross-examined by the other party’s legal representative.

The Final Hearing will be conducted in private, before a Judge. Only the parties, their legal representatives and any witnesses (such as expert’s who have valued assets) will be permitted to attend this hearing.

Once evidence has been given, and submissions made by each parties’ legal representatives, the judge will then make a final order which will be binding on both parties.
